Back in 2024, Rosman High School juniors Jayden Reynaldo and Layne Jones lost their lives in a four-wheeler crash.
Officials said that alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash and are accusing adults of providing alcohol to minors.
Now, the people who are deemed responsible are set to face punishment.
Three North Carolina adults have been arrested and charged in connection with that fatal ATV accident involving the two teenagers.
35-year-old Ashley Marie Darity faces two counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the incident. Court records show she was indicted on February 10, per WFIN.
Layne Jones and Jayden Reynaldo were driving a 2015 Polaris Sportsman four-wheeler when they went around a curve and off the road, hitting a tree. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Transylvania County School District released a statement regarding the loss of the two beloved students back then:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of losing two of our beloved Rosman High School students in a devastating accident,” the district said.
“Our community has been struck by an unimaginable loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of these remarkable young individuals.”

The deaths of Jayden Reynaldo and Layne Jones had a community in North Carolina in mourning.
State law enforcement confirmed the arrests of three Transylvania County adults for their role in the deaths.
The two teenagers dying hit the community really hard.
Following the deaths, fans and students wore orange to express their support and pay tribute to both boys at a football game.
