Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean returned for the latest instalment of ITV‘s Dancing On Ice earlier this month. They reprised their roles as judges alongside Ashley Banjo and newcomer Oti Mabuse.

But during last week’s show, complaints flooded into Twitter from “uncomfortable” fans who said that Jayne and Christopher’s performance had left them feeling “sick”.

The pair danced a beautiful rendition to The Beatles’ Lucy in The Sky.

And while the routine was performed without a hitch, the camera crew appeared to have opted for a drone shot to film the ice skating number.

Upon seeing the response from fans, the professional skaters hopped onto their social media account to apologise for the matter.

“Hello, everyone. Apologies for those who felt uncomfortable watching the drone number,” they wrote.

“We have always wanted to push boundaries with skating and technology. A new frontier for us.”

The duo then ensured fans that they wouldn’t be using any drone shots for this week’s episode when their routine will revert to being filmed on stationed cameras.

“But just to reassure everyone our next routine is back to DOI stationary cameras classic T&D.”

It was said that people were so disturbed by the performance, they decided to switch off their television.

One fan had taken to Twitter, saying they were somewhat “impressed” in how the dance was filmed yet they were still left feeling some motion sickness.

“Whilst I am impressed with the drone pilot, the whole sequence on dancing on ice felt kind of nauseating given the fish eye lens,” @SDoran468 wrote.

Another Dancing On Ice fan named @Delilah64 echoed similar words, writing: “Just watched Dancing on Ice on catch-up and the Torvill and Dean routine filmed by drone gave me motion sickness.”
