Unrivaled suffers fresh blow after Caitlin Clark snubbed new 3-on-3 league
Unrivaled continues to pay the price for missing out on Caitlin Clark after reports revealed the new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league is losing TV viewers.
The inaugural season of Unrivaled announced underwhelming ratings for its opening night, peaking at an average of just 364,000 across TNT Sports and truTV.
It’s claimed those numbers dipped as the weekend went on, with just 100k and 184k viewers tuning in on Saturday and Monday, respectively.
Now it has emerged that viewing figures continued to drop on week two of the breakaway league.
According to Sports Media Watch, an average of 281,000 viewers watched on Friday. That is down 10 per cent on opening weekend.
Monday also saw a 10 per cent drop in ratings, down to 166,000, while Saturday’s games, meanwhile drew 98,000 (down two per cent).

Caitlin Clark turned down the chance to compete in the new 3-on-3 breakaway league
That is well below the WNBA average for 2024, when Clark helped take the sport to new heights in a record-breaking rookie season.
By comparison, an average of 1.19 million viewers tuned into ESPN during the WNBA regular season.
Indiana Fever star Clark opted against taking part in the competition, despite reportedly receiving an offer of $1million.
Angel Reese, Sabrina Ionescu, Brittney Griner, and Cameron Brink are among the stars playing in Unrivaled.
But ahead of week one, league president Alex Bazzell told Front Office Sports: ‘We don’t expect to go get the same numbers the WNBA does… we’re just trying to deliver a great product, which I know we can do.’
