Justin Bieber admits struggling with ‘drowning’ feeling and ‘hurt’ he has faced
The singer shared a personal message about his feelings and struggles, following growing concerns about his well-being.

Justin Bieber took to his Instagram Stories yesterday to post a message opening up about his personal struggles and emotions. In recent weeks and months, his dishevelled appearance and social media posts have raised concerns among fans. In the heartfelt post, the 31-year-old singer described feeling overwhelmed and unsettled as he told fans he felt like he was ‘drowning’. The message, which played alongside SZA’s song I Hate U, led to concern from fans about the Canadian singer’s well-being.
Justin wrote: “I was always told when I was a kid not to hate. But it make me feel like I wasn’t allowed to have it and so I didn’t tell anyone I’ve had it. Which made me feel like I was drowning, unsafe to acknowledge it. I think we can only let hate go by first acknowledging its there.”
“How couldn’t we feel hate from all of the hurt we’ve experienced,” he added. In recent months, the Peaches singer sparked growing concern among his fans, as he’s been seen stepping out looking downcast and gaunt. Recent reports suggest that Justin’s wife, Hailey, 28, is “deeply concerned” about him. In February, his reps claimed Justin is “simply in one of the best places in his life” as they shut down the rumour he was using hard drugs as “absolutely not true”. The singer has reportedly focusing on parenting his newborn son, Jack Blues Bieber, and working on new music.

Speaking to TMZ, Justin’s rep said the past year has been “very transformative for him as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.” They went on to say the narrative on his mental and physical health is “exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”
ustin, who welcomed son Jack with wife Hailey last summer, caused concern over his well-being when he suddenly unfollowed his wife on social media in January. Right before that, he unfollowed his father-in-law, Stephen Baldwin, and shared a controversial photo of a bong. He quickly dismissed rumours of a marriage breakdown by sharing a number of photos of his wife. He said: “Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife. S**t is getting suss out here.”
However, there are concerns that Justin’s past demons may be rearing their heads again, potentially triggered by his association with the arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs. The hip-hop titan, who was once a close friend and mentor to Justin, is currently behind bars awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking, abuse and racketeering – all of which Combs vehemently denies. Despite their close friendship, Justin’s early career was tumultuous, with rumours that he was “thrown to the wolves” as he partied with Combs during his teen years.

Last week, Justin posted another heartbreaking message on social media as concerns grew. The singer shared a message with his nearly 250 million followers on Instagram, where he hinted that he was struggling with imposter syndrome. In a message posted on his Instagram story, he wrote: “People told me my whole life, ‘wow Justin you deserve that’, and I personally have always felt unworthy. Like I was a fraud, like when people told me I deserve something.
“It made me feel sneaky like damn if they only knew my thoughts. How judgemental I am, how selfish I really am. They wouldn’t be saying this. I say all this to say. If you feel sneaky, welcome to the club. I definitely feel unequipped and unqualified most days.”
