Harry’s family ‘left the Royal Family after the Queen did not display their photos’
A new book about the Royal Family confirms that Harry and Meghan decided to leave after a photo of them and Archie was not placed on the Queen’s table during the Christmas broadcast in 2019.
However, before filming, the Queen asked an aide to take out a photo that showed Harry and Meghan holding their son Archie. According to the book, a source said the Queen “looked over the table to rearrange her favorite photos that she had chosen.” She told the director that all the photos were fine, except for the Sussexes.
Later, the Queen is said to have pointed to the photo of the Sussexes and said: “That, I don’t think we need that.” There is an opinion that the Queen rejected Harry and Meghan because they chose to spend Christmas in Canada with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
The Sussexes are said to be very sad about the lack of pictures of their family. A month later, the two announced that they would quit all Royal duties and start a new life abroad.
However, at the time, Royal commentator Ingrid Seward said the Queen’s choice of photo did not have such implications. Ms Seward said: “It seems to represent the idea of a shrinking monarchy. All the issues that the media reported on Harry and Meghan must have worried her. However, she will never be so mean as to deliberately miss their image.”
Not only giving his opinion on the reason for the Sussexes leaving the Royal Family, the author Andersen also claimed that Prince Charles himself was the one who commented on Archie’s skin color. However, the crown prince’s spokesman denied the allegations and called a lawyer to get involved. Meanwhile, a palace spokesman told the New York Post: “We don’t comment on books of this kind because doing so risks giving it some form of credibility.”
