Travis Kelce Reacts to Taylor Swift Getting Booed at Super Bowl LIX /d

Typically when Taylor Swift is shown on the Jumbotron at an NFL game, the reaction from fans is a pleasant one.

However, that wasn’t the case Sunday at the Superdome in New Orleans when Swift was met with a chorus of boos from fans in attendance to watch the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.

It’s clear from her reaction that Swift was taken back by what was happening as well. A close-up video of her shows her asking Ice Spice “What’s going on?” while fans jeered as her face was plastered on the stadium’s video screen.

Swift played it off perfectly though, flashing a coy grin after realizing Eagles fans weren’t happy with her being there to support boyfriend Travis Kelce as his Chiefs chased the NFL’s first Super Bowl three-peat.

Though Kelce was down on the field when the incident happened warming up, he was still privy to what happened. And according to a report from the Daily Mail, the All-Pro tight end wasn’t thrilled with how his longtime girlfriend was treated.

“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Seeing the look on her face got to him. He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.

“… It’s clear to many that the Eagles fans feel she is a traitor of sorts, being from Pennsylvania and even wearing Eagles gear prior to dating him.”

Kelce and the Chiefs didn’t give Swift much to cheer for during the game.

Kansas City got outdueled in every facet of its 40-22 loss. The Eagles outgained the Chiefs 345 yards to 275 (most of KC’s yards came in garbage time after falling behind 40-6), nearly doubled them up in first downs (21 to 12), they turned the ball over just once to Kansas City’s three turnovers, and they dominated time of possession 36:58 to 23:02.

Kelce himself wasn’t much of a factor either. He was held without a catch in the first half for the first time in his playoff career, and he finished the game with just four catches for 49 yards.
