A few minutes later, the Chicago police arrived. In front of Emily, John told the whole story. He was both regretful and relieved, because he finally didn’t have to bear the burden alone anymore.

After the storm

The investigation was quickly opened. The other criminal group was arrested, John gradually recovered. In the days after the incident, Emily was always by her husband’s side, taking him to the hospital and bandaging his wounds.

John held his wife’s hand and choked up:
– “I’m sorry for making you doubt, for not sharing from the beginning. From now on, no matter what happens, I promise to face it with you.”

Emily hugged her husband, tears falling on his shoulder. She understood that love is not only about sweet moments, but also when two people face storms together, even if they have to touch their biggest fears.
