Jayne Torvill: Dancing On Ice judge on why Christopher Dean called police on her ‘Furious’
JAYNE TORVILL has reflected on a time her Dancing On Ice co-judge Christopher Dean called emergency services on her when she was late back from shopping.

Dancing On Ice judge Jayne Torvill, 61, said she left her ice skating partner Christopher Dean, 60, “furious” when she arrived home two hours later than planned. Reflecting on the moment, she revealed: “Once, in New York, I was nearly two hours late because I’d been shopping. “This was before mobile phones, so when I turned up he was furious. He’d called the hospital and the police because he’d been so worried.”

The figure skating expert went on to comment on Chris’ most “annoying characteristic”.
She added to Radio Times: ”His obsession with time is his most annoying characteristic.
“If a car’s coming to pick us up but it’s not due for two minutes, he starts ringing people to say it’s not there.
“It’s hard for me to get wound up about anything.”
Jayne and Christopher first met in 1971 at an ice rink and the pair were soon known as an iconic duo after performing together.
In 1984, the dancing couple won gold at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics for their dance to Ravel’s Boléro.

Across the board, the duo have won seven British Championships, four European and four World Championships and two Olympic medals.
Many believe the Dancing On Ice co-stars are a married couple, but the pair are actually just friends.
Jayne said: “People say that we act like an old married couple, so I’m sure we could have ended up together, but during that period when you start dating, we were absorbed in our skating.”
Jayne has been married to Phil Christensen since 1990.
The couple have two adopted children Kieran, 15, and Jessica, 12.
Elsewhere, Christopher has been married twice in his lifetime.

He first tied the knot with Isabelle Duchesnay in 1991, with their marriage lasting two years.
In 1994 he married his second wife Jill Trenary but the pair parted ways in 2010.
Christopher has two children Sam Colin Dean and Jack Robert Dean.
