Not Dancing On Ice: Former Olympic figure skaters Jayne Torvill, 60, and Christopher Dean, 59, baffled after they are BANNED from the rink on revamped show as ‘TV bosses have not insured them’
Their impressive ice-skating expertise allowed them to choreograph some impressive routines in previous seasons.
But Olympic champs Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have now revealed they are not allowed to take to the rink on Dancing On Ice – which is making its big comeback to television on January 7 after four years.
‘They haven’t insured us to go on the ice so they wouldn’t let us go on. I think it’s just a standard contract. I don’t get it,’ Chris, 59, revealed to the Daily Star ahead of taking to the judging panel with Jayne, Jason Gardiner and Diversity’s Ashley Banjo.

Dancing On Ice is set to make its big comeback after its contract was not renewed back in 2014 following eight successful seasons.
And it has now been revealed that Torvill and Dean aren’t allowed to step foot on the ice as they prepare to offer their feedback to a fresh batch of celebrities.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Dancing On Ice for further comment.
They have enjoyed 30 years in the spotlight as one of the most popular ice skating duos ever.

The pair’s sensational skills also earned them an Olympic gold for Great Britain in Sarajevo, Bosnia, in 1984.
While they are both in separate relationships – Christopher with Karen Barber and Jayne with her husband of 27 years, Phil Christensen – the pair have previously admitted to being romantically involved once before when they were both single.
Previously speaking to The Sun: ‘We were very involved. We were really close — we spent so many hours together training week in, week out.’

The latest series of the figure skate show will move from the famous Elstree studios to Bovingdon Airfields – a location featured in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.
An insider told MailOnline: ‘It is a temporary build at Bovingdon and will comprise of two ice rinks – a training rink and the studio for the live show.’
The full celebrity line up this year are – Anthony Cotton, Candice Brown, Alex Beresford, Stephanie Waring, Perri Shakes-Drayton, Kem Cetinay, Cheryl Baker, Lemar Obika, Melody Le Moal, Brooke Vincent, Max Evans and Donna Air.
Series 10 of Dancing on Ice will launch on Sunday, January 7 at 6pm on ITV.
