My Wife Always Wears a Red Gown Once It’s Midnight
Episode 1
The first time I saw my wife in a red gown at midnight, I thought it was normal.
I thought I knew everything about her. But there was one thing I never knew about her… her nights.
Slowly, I began to notice something strange.
Every night, she would go to bed in her normal nightgown. But exactly at midnight, I would find her standing in a red gown. By morning… she was back in her usual clothes.
The first night, I ignored it. The second night, I told myself it was a coincidence. But by the third night, I realized, this was no mistake. And sometimes… she wasn’t even in bed at all.
One morning, I asked her:
“Honey, sometimes I see you in a red gown at night. But by morning… you’re in something else. Why change clothes?”
She froze, then laughed softly.
“Me? A red gown? Come on, honey. You worry too much. I’ve told you before, I don’t even like red.”
She hugged me tight, smiling.
But I could feel it
She was hiding something.
That night, I made up my mind I would stay awake and catch her. But no matter how hard I tried, I always drifted off, and by morning, she would tap me gently, smiling as she said, “Honey, it’s 6 a.m. already.”
I was surprised, I couldn’t remember when I slept off
I became restless, so I came up with a smarter plan. If I could take away that red gown before midnight, maybe then I would finally know the truth.
That evening, I took her to her favorite movie house. She was so focused on the screen, laughing at every scene, that she didn’t notice my eyes on her.
“Honey,” I said casually, “do you care for ice cream?”
Her face lit up. “Of course. You know I can’t say no.”
I smiled, pretending to head out for the ice cream.
But instead, I drove home, straight to the wardrobe.
I searched frantically, tossing clothes aside, desperate to find it. Then I saw it, tucked deep at the bottom. A flash of red.
My hands trembled as I reached for it.
And then
A voice behind me.
“What are you searching for?”
I froze.
It was my wife.
This time… she wasn’t smiling.
Episode 2 – The Secret of the Red Gown
I turned around slowly, clutching the edge of the wardrobe.
There she was—my wife, Elena, standing in the doorway. But she wasn’t the gentle, sweet woman I married.
Her eyes glowed faintly in the dim light, her face pale, and her lips curved into a cold smile.
“Honey… why are you home?” I stammered. “I thought you were still at the movie.”
She took one slow step forward.
“You shouldn’t have come back.”
My heart raced. My eyes darted to the flash of red fabric I had uncovered. The gown.
“Elena… what is this gown? Why do you always wear it at night?”
For a moment, she didn’t speak. She only stared. Then, with an eerie calmness, she said:
“This gown… is not just clothing. It’s a door.”
My hands shook. “A door? To what?”
She smiled wider.
“To where I belong.”
The Midnight Truth
Before I could react, the clock struck midnight.
The room grew unnaturally cold. The lights flickered. The red gown in my hands grew warm—too warm, as if alive. Suddenly, it yanked itself free from my grasp and floated toward her.
The gown slipped onto her body as if it had been waiting. In an instant, Elena was wrapped in red, her eyes now glowing crimson.
“Elena… please… you’re scaring me,” I whispered.
She tilted her head, her voice softer, almost sorrowful:
“I tried to keep you out of this. I wanted a normal life with you. But the gown doesn’t let me stay away. At midnight, I must wear it. I must return…”
“Return where?” I demanded.
Her lips trembled. “To them.”
The Visitors
The wardrobe behind her creaked open—on its own.
Not to shelves or hangers… but to darkness. A swirling black void stretched beyond it. From that void, shadows began to crawl out—long, thin figures with hollow eyes, whispering in voices that made my skin crawl.
“Elena… come back… come back to us…” they hissed.
I staggered backward, horrified. “What are they?!”
Her eyes filled with tears as she clutched the frame of the wardrobe. “They’re my family. I was never meant to stay in your world. The gown binds me to them. At midnight… I must return. At dawn, I come back to you.”
I shook my head violently. “No. You’re my wife. You belong here. With me!”
For the first time, her voice broke. “If you really love me… you must let me go. If you try to stop me, they’ll take you too.”
The Last Choice
The shadows stretched closer, whispering my name now. My blood turned cold.
“Elena, don’t leave me!” I begged.
She reached for me with one trembling hand, her eyes pleading. “Promise me… promise you’ll remember me as I was. Not as this. Don’t follow me, honey. Please…”
And before I could stop her, the shadows pulled her into the void. The wardrobe slammed shut.
Epilogue
The next morning, the sun shone brightly through the curtains. I sat on the floor, staring at the wardrobe. It looked ordinary, as if nothing had happened. Her nightgown—white and delicate—lay folded neatly on the bed.
But she was gone.
No note. No trace. Only the faint scent of her perfume lingering in the air.
And then… as the clock struck midnight again that night…
The wardrobe creaked.
And I saw it.
The red gown, glowing faintly in the dark, hanging by itself on the door.
Waiting.
