FROM GOLD TO GOODBYE: Torvill & Dean Begin Their Final Bow in Spectacular Wembley Show

Dancing on Ice judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean begin their farewell tour with a show-stopping performance at London’s Wembley Arena

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, judges on Dancing on Ice, had a stunning performance on Saturday at London’s Wembley OVO Arena, kicking off their farewell tour.
Torvill & Dean: Our Last Dance is the renowned ice skating duo’s last UK tour, celebrating 50 years of collaboration and the last time they skate together on ice.
On Saturday, Jayne, 67, looked lovely as she took to the ice, displaying her great skating talents in a breathtaking purple ombre outfit.
Flaunting her beautiful, toned legs, the former contender skated smoothly around the ice in a pair of white skates, accompanied by her skating partner, Christopher, 66.
Jayne arranged her blonde hair in an attractive bun and wore stunning makeup for the performance.
Meanwhile, Christopher complimented her with a silk purple button-up shirt and fitted pants.

The two kicked off the event with a stunning new routine choreographed to The Greatest Showman and were joined on the ice by a cast of world-class skaters.
Jayne’s sparkling silver-and-white costume, adorned with a V-neckline, diamante accents, and a flowing skirt, was the star of the show.
Christopher, meanwhile, looked slick in a fine white tuxedo and black tailored pants as he easily whirled Jayne over the ice.
The renowned couple, who began working together in 1975, couldn’t help but smile as they delivered an amazing performance for the crowd.
Later in the evening, Jayne looked stunning in a silver and bronze sequin-embellished off-the-shoulder dress as she and Christopher proudly held aloft a trophy.
Torvill and Dean: Our Last Dance, their farewell tour, will take place from April 12 to May 11, 2025, in London, Belfast, Newcastle, and Glasgow.
On Valentine’s Day 1984, they skated to triumph at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics, winning the gold medal and setting a new record for a single performance.
Jayne and Christopher are retiring for the final time after 41 years of skating, as stated last year.
Dean claimed the couple had agreed it was the ‘appropriate time’ to retire, admitting, ‘We’re not spring birds anymore’ and wanting to leave while they can still perform ‘to a certain degree.’
The couple rose to international stardom after getting 12 flawless 6s while skating to Maurice Ravel’s Boléro at Sarajevo’s Zetra Olympic Hall, eliciting a standing ovation.
The performance was witnessed by 24 million people in the United Kingdom, and one month later, they got an even higher score in the World Championships.
Regarding the date of their retirement, Dean stated, “I believe there comes a point when you know.
‘We’re not spring chickens anymore, but we’re still capable of doing so to an extent that makes us happy, but that will change.
“So, I think this is the right time for us to be able to do that and go skate and do some of the old routines; be very nostalgic, but then do some new, fun, upbeat dances with friends from the skating world and Dancing On Ice.”
He also stated that they regard the trip as a ‘celebration’ but admitted that they would most likely become emotional as their last skate approaches.
He said, ‘We’ll have a sense of pride as well, I think, of what we’ve done and continue to accomplish over the years, offering competitive skating and contests and then entertainment through the TV screen.’
‘I believe we’ll reflect and see it in a positive light.’
After finishing their professional careers, Jayne and Christopher began instructing and choreographing, as well as touring extensively, before becoming the stars of ITV’s reality program Dancing on Ice in 2006.
They served as chief judges when the program relaunched in 2018, following a hiatus in 2014.
Last year, the event featured a special homage to their 1984 gold medal performance.
‘That was really a launching pad for moving on to pursue other opportunities,’ they added, referring to their favorite routine from 1984.
‘Touring the world, skating in front of hundreds of millions of people, and then Dancing On Ice launching as a result of winning the Olympics.’
