A police dog attacked a 16-year-old student and started barking loudly: when the police took her fingerprints, they discovered something terrifying.
At City High School No. 17, an “open class” on safety had been organized. The auditorium was attended by senior students, teachers and some parents. As part of the demonstration, a trainer from the canine unit was invited along with his service dog, a German shepherd named Rex.
The officer, dressed in an impeccable uniform, took the stage with a confident step. Rex walked beside him calmly, he seemed almost sleepy, although his eyes were watching every corner of the place. The students whispered to each other, intrigued.
“This isn’t just a dog,” the officer said with a confident smile. He is my companion. And he is never wrong.
The demonstration began: Rex found a fake gun hidden in a backpack and lay down next to a student who was carrying a special marker in his pocket. The young people applauded, impressed by the animal’s intelligence.
But then everything changed. Just as the agent was about to end the exhibition, Rex suddenly tensed. His ears were raised, the fur on his neck stood on end, and he stood motionless, staring at a group of students. And without warning, he let out a deep growl and lunged forward.
“Rex, be still!” The trainer ordered, but the dog did not obey.
The German Shepherd jumped at a girl in the third row, barking furiously. It was Marie, a discreet and quiet student, who used to sit at the back of the class. That day I was standing next to some friends, hugging a notebook to my chest. At first glance she looked like an ordinary, shy young woman.
However, Rex reacted as if he were facing a threat. He grunted loudly, bared his teeth at her, and finally knocked her down. The notebook was thrown out, she screamed and the room was plunged into chaos. The teachers rushed to intervene.
“Rex, that’s enough!” Lie down! cried the guide, holding the animal by the collar with difficulty. Still, the dog’s eyes were still fixed on Marie, as if he had discovered something that no one else could see.
The officer, bewildered, muttered,
“He never acts like that without reason…” never.
The teenager, pale and trembling, did not stop crying. Some thought the dog had been mistaken for a scent, but the officer wasn’t convinced.
“Miss, I need you and your parents to accompany me to the police station,” she said firmly. We need to clarify this.
The parents protested, indignant: “What a humiliation for the girl and for the whole class!” But Rex kept growling, and no one dared ignore his instinct.
Hours later, at the police station, they took the young woman’s fingerprints. When the data appeared on the computer, the agents were petrified. There was an exact match in the database… đ˛

The fingerprints belonged to a woman registered in the federal database of wanted criminals.
The officer slowly turned to the trembling “student”:
It turned out that her real name was Anna, and that she was already 30 years old, not 16. Due to a rare genetic condition, she still looked like a teenager: short stature, childlike facial features, thin voice.
Anna had been hiding from the police for several years, living in different cities. His history included theft, fraud, and involvement in jewelry thefts.
Fingerprints had been found in safes, doorknobs, in apartments… But each time she escaped persecution because no one could believe that a “teenager” was behind the crimes.
She attended different schools, lived with families under the guise of an orphan, and changed her name constantly. No one suspected that an adult woman sat among the children.
“No one would have recognized me,” he said with a mocking smile. If it weren’t for your damn dog.
“You see, Anna,” he said coldly, “humans can make mistakes. But my partner, never.
