A recent tweet from Justin Bieber’s account had people asking “What Do You Mean?”
The singer, who recently has been working on his mental health and open about his struggles, appears to be singing a new tune.
“I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon,” a tweet Sunday read. “Tom if you dont take this fight your (sic) scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?”
USA TODAY has reached out to Bieber’s rep for comment.
His manager, Scooter Braun, seemed to confirm the validity of the tweet, with his own post Monday, sharing a tweet from Billboard that read: “.@justinbieber challenges #TomCruise to ‘fight in the octagon.’ “

“Of course he did,” Braun said in response. “Just a normal Sunday.
“But I have no interest in watching or helping in making this happen unless it includes crushed glass on the knuckles and a live bear released in to the octagon in the 4th round,” he continued. “Oh and the money should go to charity of course.”
The message made waves on social media, catching the eye of some famous faces.
TV host and “Saved By the Bell” alum Mario Lopez shard a screenshot of the post to Instagram and wondered: “Why the Beebs wanna put hands on Tom Cruise?!” He also took time to correct the post’s grammar. “And it’s ‘you’re’ homie…”
“Riverdale” actor Cole Sprouse jokingly made an attempt to correct the error, replying: “Yor*”.
Filmmaker Kevin Smith doled out advice.
“You wanna control Cruise in this match? 1) Don’t fight him on a couch: he can be bouncy,” Smith wrote, referencing Cruise’s 2005 couch-jumping on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
“2) Make sure you’re fighting the actual Tom Cruise, because he’s king of impossible rubber mask reveals,” Smith added. “3) If he slides into the Octagon in Wayfarers and undies, go for his parents’ Porsche.”
Imani Gandy, senior legal analyst for Rewire.News, tweeted: “Kylie Jenner is having a Handmaids Tale themed birthday party and Justin Bieber wants to fight Tom Cruise and boy howdy is that meteor late.”
Those less Twitter famous were equally captivated by the tweet.
“I’ve seen some off the wall, what-the-hell tweets before. But this…” a fan commented. Using a GIF from an episode of “The Office,” one user predicted it was “Tom Cruise right now.” The GIF? Dwight Schrute asking, “Who is Justice Beaver?”
