Who is Diana Taurasi’s wife, Penny Taylor? Everything you need to know about the WNBA player’s spouse
Diana Taurasi made WNBA history Thursday night when she scored her 10,000th career point.
The Phoenix Mercury star became the first WNBA player to score 10,000 points, hitting the mark with 8:23 remaining in the third quarter against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night.
Taurasi has been the cornerstone of the Phoenix franchise since she was drafted first in 2004 out of UConn. She not only is the career regular-season scoring leader, but also holds that mark in the playoffs.
But the 41-year-old isn’t the only basketball star in the family as she’s married to former WNBA player Penny Taylor.

Who is Diana Taurasi’s wife, Penny Taylor?
Penny Taylor is basketball royalty in her own right, having been inducted into the WNBA Hall of Fame last year.
The Australian played 19 years in the league, spending most of it with the Phoenix Mercury, where she won three championships.
She was selected 11th in the 2001 WNBA draft by the Cleveland Rockers. When that team folded in 2003, she was picked up by the Mercury and helped them win titles in 2007, 2009 and 2014.
She competed in three Olympics for the Australia Opals in 2004 Athens (Silver), 2008 Beijing (Silver), and 2016 Rio.
She and Taurasi competed against one another in the 2004 and 2008 Olympic games during their time in the league.
Taylor retired in 2016, after averaging 13.3 points in her 13-year WNBA career.

How long have Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor been together?
Taurasi and Taylor met in 2004 as teammates on their first day with the Phoenix Mercury, according to PEOPLE.
However, they didn’t immediately start dating. They were in previous relationships during their time together with the Mercury.
Taylor was previously married to Brazilian volleyball player Rodrigo Rodrigues Gil from 2005 until 2008. But, after Taylor retired in 2016, she and Taurasi began dating.
They tied the knot in 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona, with Taurasi wearing a white suit and Taylor stunning in a strapless white gown.
‘It was the most amazing and beautiful day of our lives,’ Taurasi told PEOPLE in 2017. ‘To be able to share our love with family and close friends meant the world to us.’

Do Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor have children together?
The couple have two children together. They welcomed their first child, a son called Leo Michael in March 2018.
Taylor gave birth to their second, a daughter called Isla, in October 2021.
Taurasi had to jet back immediately after the Mercury’s deciding Game 5 of their semifinal series against the Las Vegas Aces.
She had scored 24 points in the 87-84 win and jokingly told Taylor during her postgame interview with ESPN: ‘Hold it in babe.’
