Caitlin Clark’s new Fever teammate makes her Super Bowl pick with sultry Instagram selfie
t’s been a wild week of trades in the WNBA which has resulted in plenty of new teammates for Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.
The Fever have been bulking up their roster to surround their young core of players – like Clark, Aaliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell – with experienced veterans.
Recent additions to the team include three-time champion Natasha Howard, two-time champion DeWanna Bonner, two-time champion Sydney Colson, and veteran guard Sophie Cunningham.
Cunningham recently arrived as part of a massive four-team trade that moved her from the Phoenix Mercury to Indiana.
Outside being big time professional athletes, Clark and Cunningham seem to have at least one thing in common: being fans of the Kansas City Chiefs.
On her Instagram story the week before the team plays in Super Bowl LIX, Cunningham shared a selfie of her wearing a Chiefs t-shirt under a jacket.

Cunningham was traded from the Phoenix Mercury to the Fever in a four-team deal in January
Cunningham is a native of Columbia, Missouri – the same state where the Chiefs play their home games.
So naturally, she’ll be cheering for her hometown team before they take on the Philadelphia Eagles down in New Orleans.
Cunningham is a six-year WNBA veteran – who was selected out of the University of Missouri in the 2019 WNBA Draft.
She’s built herself a career as a solid bench option – averaging 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.
Clark is a diehard fan of the Chiefs – having been spotted at multiple games in the past and having swapped jerseys with Kansas City players before.
After a long spell of playing basketball – which spanned from a college season in November of 2023 through until September 2024 when she was eliminated from the WNBA playoffs – Clark decided to take a break to recover before an exciting 2025 WNBA season.
Indiana has put together a series of promising offseason moves which could improve their chances at making a run to the WNBA title.
Per ESPN Bet, the Fever are currently the fourth-favorites to win the league at +500, behind the Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, and the betting favorites and reigning league champion New York Liberty.
