ITV Dancing on Ice fans cry ‘END OF AN ERA’ as Torvill and Dean bid emotional farewell

Dancing on Ice took an emotional turn on Sunday night, with many fans admitting to shedding a tear or two.

Dancing on Ice viewers were left sobbing on Sunday night after judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean performed for the final time on TV.

Some fans claimed it “was the end of an era” as the duo took to the ice for the last time to perform a stunning routine to the Lighthouse Family.

Before their performance, Chris admitted to feeling emotional. When speaking with Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern Chris shared: “We are skating our last performance tonight live on Dancing on Ice.

“So, it is very emotional for us. It has been a fantastic ride, we have been here 17 series or something like that, over 80 performances but, the last one tonight.”

“It’s going to be history in the making,” Holly replied.

Stephen pointed out that while it was their last performance on TV, fans could still see them on tour.

The programme also aired a VT of Chris and Jayne speaking before their final performance was shown.

Jayne stated: “When we were asked to do Dancing on Ice, it was to choreograph. We had actually retired, but then we were asked to demonstrate some of the technical moves with music, and we said that would be a routine. There we go. We were back performing again.”

She added: “As we’ve been skating together for 50 years, and this is our final performance on Dancing on Ice, we wanted to do something really special.”

“It’s been emotional,” Chris chimed in. “We wanted to include as many of the professionals as we could. We’re retiring our skating now, and it’s just fitting that we’re able to do a final performance on Dancing on Ice.”
