Pope Francis’ life in pictures

Pope Francis, who reshaped the Catholic Church, died on April 21 at the age of 88. He was the first Latin American pope in history and the first from the Americas. He chose the name Francis in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, who is revered by Catholics for his efforts to help the poor.
